HENDERSON-Lillian Fleming Davis, age 90, a resident of Fernwood Creek Court, died Monday, February 27, 2017, in a local nursing home.Born in Warren County on July 23, 1926, she was the daughter of the late William Maurice Fleming and Myrtis Paschall Fleming, and was the widow of John Hoyle Davis.
Mrs. Davis was a member of First Baptist Church where she was a longtime pre-school
Sunday School teacher.She was an active member of the Vance County Historical Society.
Memorial services will be held Friday at 2pm at theFirst Baptist Church by Dr. Ronald S. Cava and Dr. Marion D. Lark.A private burial will be held at Cary Baptist Church Cemetery.
She is survived by three daughters, Nancy D. Morton of Swansboro, Joan D. Ayscue of Henderson and Susan D. Barnett of Franklin, TN; two sons, William Russell Davis of Swansboro and Alan Scott Davis of Henderson; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Anne Coghill. She was preceeded in death by one son, John Jackson Davis.
The family will receive friends immediately following in the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.At other times they will be at her home on Fernwood Creek Court.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cary Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1295 Cary Chapel Road, Henderson, NC27537 or to the Vance County Animal Shelter, 1243 Brodie Road, Henderson, NC27537.
