Linda Lou Hendley Edwards, age 70, a resident of 285 Faulkner Town Road, died Monday, November 12, 2012, at her home.Born in Vance County on August 13, 1942, she was the daughter of Lenora Coghill Hendley of Henderson and the late Sidney Hendley.She was retired from Maria Parham Medical Center and was a member of Unity Baptist Church where she was a Youth Sunday School Teacher for many years.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Calvin Hedgepeth.Burial will follow in the Bridges Family Cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, Jimmie Louis Edwards, Jr. of Clifton, VA and Kenneth Wayne Edwards of Henderson; three daughters, Katherine Gail Edwards, and Melinda Edwards Peoples of Henderson and Alexia Edwards of Kittrell; three grandchildren; two brothers, William Hendley and Billy Ray Hendley of Henderson; and two sisters, Rebecca Anderson of Garner and Peggy Vaughan of Brazil.
In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Louis Edwards, Sr.
The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 7:00 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home at 285 Faulkner Town Road.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Carlton Edwards, Wade Edwards, Michael Edwards, Sam Abbott, Mark Abbott, Craig Edwards, and Willie Edwards.
