Linda W. Vaughan

HENDERSON- Linda Faye West Vaughan, 78, of NC Hwy 39 North, died Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at her home. Born July 3, 1946 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Lois Abbott West and Bonnie Lee West. She was the former property manager at Quail Ridge Apartments. Linda was a founding member of Gospel Independent Baptist Church where funeral services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. by Rev. Robert Greene. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Parham Gardner “P.G.” Vaughan, III of the home; a step-daughter, Jennifer Erwin (Michael) of Wake Forest; her granddaughter, Morgan Abbott Kirkman (Tyler) of Wilson; three sisters, Ruby Peoples, Patricia Davis (Bill), and Hazel Robertson, all of Henderson; her loving friends and caregivers, Cookie White, Neicey Thompkins; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Graham Abbott, Jr., a step-daughter, Melissa Daye Vaughan; a sister, Grace Starnes; and two brothers, Dan West and Thurston “Jake” West. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. and following the service, at Gospel Independent Baptist Church on Saturday. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Norwood, Donald Hoyle, Gene Vaughan, Mike West, Noel Robertson, Donnie Robertson, Ty Fields, and Gregory Miller.
