October 3, 2017,at Duke University Hospital.Born in Granville County on December 18, 1946, he was the son of the late Alfred Yancey Dickerson, Sr. and Trudie Mae Bollinger Dickerson.Mr. Dickerson was retired from Burlington Mills and was a member of Our Lords House of Prayer.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home by the Rev. Gary Harper.Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Della Adcox Dickerson of the home; one daughter, Cindy D. Edwards (Vincent) of Henderson; two sisters, Annie Lee Lowery and Nancy Jane Strickland of Henderson; one brother, Alfred Y. Dickerson, Jr. of Henderson; eight grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Steven Mark Dickerson; two brothers, John William Dickerson, and Roy Lee Dickerson; and two sisters, Ada Dellinger and Ruth Davis.
The family will receive friends Friday night from 7 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Adam Tant, Jonathan Tant, Mike Hennessy, Ricky Chilton, Stephen Lowery, and Steven Adcox.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to St. Judes Children Hospital, PO Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN38101-9908.
