L. Keith Powers

RICHMOND- Lloyd Keith Powers, 75, of Richmond, passed away suddenly Saturday, September 12, 2026. Born April 17, 1951 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Doris Wray Tharrington Powers and Glenn Worth Powers.

As a young man, Keith earned the rank of Eagle Scout and graduated from Campbell University. He worked for Wachovia Bank and in the Real Estate business for many years. An adventurer, he loved to travel and lived life to the fullest. Keith was a talented and avid woodworker; he enjoyed hiking and dancing. He had a genuine love for animals. He also had a genuine love of music and was an accomplished guitarist. Keith is remembered as always greeting everyone with a big smile, and being an encourager with his ever-positive attitude and his contagious sense of humor.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home by Dennis Tharrington, Maria M. Lynch and Vic Angell.

Keith is survived by his cherished wife of 42 years, Sereita M. Powers, the two were inseparable. Also surviving are his brother and three sisters who deeply loved him, Donald G. Powers (Nancy); Jean M. Powers, Carol P. Newcomb (Robert), and Kathryn P. Walker (Dan); a sister-in-law, Kay Orr; a brother-in-law, Travis Whitson; numerous adoring nieces and nephews; and many loving cousins.
