KITTRELL-Lloyd "Woody" Woodlief, age 84, a resident of 430 Cricket Creek Lane, died Monday, July 7, 2014.Born on July 6, 1930 in Vance County, he was the son of the late John Woodlief and Mary Stella Overton Woodlief.He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean War, and was a member of Central Baptist Church and the Faithful Servants Sunday School Class.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 pm at Central Baptist Church by the Rev. Randy Mann and Rev. Bruce Beck.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Farmer Woodlief of the home; two daughters, Marybeth Davidson (Hank) of Hope Mills and Melissa Thomas of the home; one son, Peyton Woodlief (Faye) of Henderson; one brother, John Elton Woodlief (Marion) of Kittrell; seven grandchildren, Margo Gasque, Kelly Woodlief, Julia Davidson, Shannon Combs, Leah Woodlief, Luc Davidson, and Daniel Woodlief; and three great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday prior to the service from 12:30 until 2 pm at Central Baptist Church.At other times they will be at the home at 430 Cricket Creek Lane.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Dale Griffin, Dwight Frazier, Charles Granger, Walt Slaton, Hank Davidson, and Justin Combs.Serving as honorary pall bearers will be members of the Faithful Servants Sunday School Class.
