Lou Rae Murdock

WILSON-Lou Rae Burgess Murdock, age 79, a resident of Wilson and formerly of Henderson, died Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Wilson Medical Center.Born in Warren County on January 1, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Walter Huffman Burgess and Bessie Lou Ayscue Burgess..
Her delights in life were always her family and her church.She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church of Wilson and a former longtime active member of West End Baptist Church in her hometown of Henderson where she served on many committees and joyfully served as a Sunday School teacher and librarian.She was retired from Harriett and Henderson Yarns, Inc. where she had been an administrative assistant for more than 30 years.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home by Pastor Richard Cuddington and Pastor Billy Toler. A private burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She was deeply loved and is survived by her daughter, Donna Newton Wiggins and husband James of Wilson; her grandchildren, Sarah Wiggins and Luke Wiggins of Wilson; her step daughter-in-law, Marie Murdock; of Raleigh; her step granddaughter, Mrs. Mika Scarlett and family of Raleigh; and many nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jeter Paul Murdock and her step-son Jerold Paul Murdock.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at J. M. White Funeral Home.
