HENDERSON- Mrs. Louise Chris Ellis Hunt, age 84, died Thursday, November 24, 2016 in High Point at her daughters home. Born in Vance County on March 4, 1932 she was the daughter of the late William Henry Ellis and Mozelle Bennett Ellis. She was a former employee of Laurens Glass Plant and co-owner of Dabney Drive Restaurant. Chris was a member of South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church where funeral services will be held Saturday at 3pm by Rev. Frank Sossamon and Pastor Will Breedlove. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by three daughters, Phyllis Landreth and husband Scotty, of High Point, Laura Hunt Hedrick and Donna L. Hunt of Henderson; a son, James Donald "Jamie" Hunt, Jr. and wife Cindy of Henderson; seven grandchildren, Christy Landreth, Kim Landreth, Jessica Carroll, James Landon Hunt, Richie Bentley, Tiffany B. Roberson, and Ben Rush; one great-grandson, Tyler Landreth; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Wilson of Henderson and Josephine LaMastus and husband Jimmy of Zebulon; a brother, Bobby Ray Mickey Ellis and wife, Linda; and a sister in law, Joyce Ellis all of Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Donald Hunt, Sr. and a brother, James Henry Ellis.
The family will receive friends prior to the service Saturday from 1:30 until 3 pm at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church and other times they will be at her home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ray Pegram, Sr., Scott Hunt, Dennis Edwards, Andy Roberson, Larry Roberson and Kenny Crews.
