HENDERSON-Lucille Roberson Franklin, 89, a resident of 1257 Ruin Creek Road, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017, in a local nursing home.Born on March 23, 1928 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Claude M. Roberson and Lizzie Bell Robinson Roberson.She was a homemaker and a member of West End Baptist Church, the Open Door Sunday School Class for many years,the Womens Missionary Union, and was a faithful wife of a Baptist Missionary.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM at West End Baptist Church by Pastor Ralph McGowan.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by two daughters, Loretta Jean Franklin and Lynn Tucker (Shields) of Henderson; two sons, Bennett Franklin and Mike Franklin (Rosemarie) of Henderson; eight grandchildren, Shawn Franklin (Christina), Miranda Roach, Heather Taylor (Brandon), Megan Floyd (Rob), Jonathan Franklin, Andrea Hennigan (Shon), Jennifer Tucker and Jacob Tucker; six great grandchildren, Tori Franklin, Colby Taylor, Abby Taylor, Maci Roach, Elizabeth Andrea Franklin, and Victoria Paige Hennigan; one sister, Elsie King (Eugene) of Henderson; and one brother, John Thomas Roberson of Henderson.In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Albert Franklin; one brother Claude Jasper "Dick" Roberson; and two sisters, Mae Roberson Hughes and Inez Roberson Champion.The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 9 until 10 am at West End Baptist Church.At other times they will be at her home on Ruin Creek Road.
