Luey Arthur Finch, Jr.

OXFORD- Luey Arthur Finch, Jr., 95, of Huntsboro Road, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Granville Health System. Born June 24, 1927 in Granville County, he was the son of the late Pearl Hicks Finch and Luey Arthur Finch, Sr. and the widower of Anne Elizabeth Critcher Finch. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and retired from Burlington Industries of Clarksville, VA after 43 years of service. He was also a member of Tabbs Creek Baptist Church where he actively served in many roles for more than 70 years. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 2:00 PM by Rev. Wayne Clark and Rev. Robbie Wood. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery. Luey is survived by two daughters, LuAnne F. Clark (Wayne) and Linda F. Reavis of Oxford; four grandchildren, Emily C. Russell (Douglas), Tyler J. Reavis (Carly), Joshua F. Reavis (Kelsey) and Seth J. Reavis; one great-grandson, Robby I. Russell; two great-granddaughters, Scotlyn J. Reavis and Addison R. Faucette; and his sister, Ruby Finch of Greensboro. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Michael J. Reavis; his sister, Thelma M. Finch; and a granddaughter, Lindsey E. Reavis. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM at Tabbs Creek Baptist Church and at other times at the home of Linda Reavis, 6512 Harold O’Brien Road, Oxford, NC 27565.
