Luke Candus Allen, Jr

RALEIGH- Luke Candus Allen, Jr., 97, died Thursday, March 30, 2023 at his home. Born March 14, 1926 in Johnston County, he was the son of the late Luke Candus Allen, Sr. and Beulah Roberson Allen and was the widower of Barbara Kirkman Allen. Luke was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Raleigh where he was plant manager. A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 7, 2023 at 5:00 PM at New Hope Baptist Church in Raleigh. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall. He is survived by a son, Michael Kirkman Allen (Paula) of Raleigh; four grandchildren, Sarah A. Bishop (Thomas); Mary Kathryn Allen; Meredith Brooke Santiago (Christian) and Michael Kirkman Allen, II (Madison Foster); and seven great- grandchildren, Noah, Abigail, Leah, William, Hazel, Cora and Samuel. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Thompson.
