Mabel Virginia Smith Edwards, age 73, a resident of Henderson, died Monday, November 28, 2011, at Maria Parham Medical Center.Born on December 7, 1938 in Hobucken, NC, she was the daughter of the late John Fred Smith and Flossie Viola Hall Smith.Mrs. Edwards was formerly employed with the former Harriett & Henderson Yarns, Inc. and M. R. Williams,Inc.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow in the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Epsom.
She is survived by one son, Brian Vaughan of Henderson; three daughters, Cindy Vaughan, and Tonya Faulk of Henderson, and Vicki Willard of Spencer, VA; one brother, Wayne Smith of Beaverdam, VA; fifteen grandchildren; and twenty-seven great grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edwards; one son, Nicky Vaughan; and one sister; and three brothers.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service at J. M. White Funeral Home.
