HENDERSON- Mabel Ellington Wortham, 94, of Allison Cooper Road, died Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Duke University Hospital. Born in Vance County on March 29, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Mack Ellington and Addie Jackson Ellington and was the widower of Lawrence Augustus Wortham.She was retired from the former People’s Bank and Trust where she worked as a bank teller.She was a member of Middleburg Baptist Church.
A graveside funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at Middleburg Cemetery by Rev. Jake Roberson.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Wortham Hamm (Mike) of Henderson; a granddaughter, Kelly Irene Hamm; and a great "grand-dog" Bailey.
