Mae Riggan Abbott

Mae Riggan Abbott, 84, of Kemps Lane, died Monday, June 20, 2022 at her home. Born in Vance County on September 15, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Lessie Currin Riggan and Haywood Riggan and was the widower of Furman Gill Abbott. She was a member of Joy In The Lord Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 23. 2022 at 2:00 in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home by Rev. Ronnie Matthews. Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens. She is survived by two daughters, Susan Abbott of the home and Teresa Hawkins (Eugene) of Norlina; one son, Dennis Abbott (Jan) of Henderson; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren; a cousin, James Faulkner of Henderson; and several honorary grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 until 2:00 PM at J.M. White Funeral Home on Thursday.
