HENDERSON –Emily Mae Pegram Brame, 94, of Avis Lane, died Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at Hock Family Pavilion. Born May 10, 1932 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Elsie Emma Short Pegram and Herman Grey Pegram and was the widow of Sidney Brooks Brame, Sr.
Mrs. Brame was a longtime faithful member of West End Baptist Church where she was active in the WMU group, was a member and teacher of the Open Door Sunday School Class and tended to needs in the fellowship hall. She retired from Charles Boyd Chevrolet where she was the office manager. Mae was faithful in her daily devotion reading and her hobbies included, putting together jig saw puzzles, crocheting, quilting, sewing and assembling floral arrangements. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and looking after her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 12, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. at West End Baptist Church by Rev. Bruce Goldsmith. Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by her daughter, Emily B. Owen and husband, Clay of Henderson; five sons, Sidney Brooks Brame, Jr. and wife, Wanda, Kim D. Brame and wife, Christine, Mark T. Brame and wife, Teresa, Glenn S. Brame and wife, Debbie and Craig S. Brame and wife, Pam all of Henderson; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Linda Capps of Bullock; and two brothers, Howard F. “Pete” Pegram and H. Brantley Pegram of Henderson.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Clark and two brothers, Issac Pegram and James Wheeler “Dick” Pegram.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Greg Brame, Kevin Lassiter, Scott Brame, Wayne Faucette, Jason Faucette, Daniel Barnes, Dave Brame, Chris Brame, Steven Brame, Jeremy Tucker and Lee Owen.
The family wishes to thank the staff at The Bridges on Parkview and the staff of Hock Family Pavilion for the kind and compassionate care shown to Mrs. Brame.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. at J.M. White Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of Craig and Pam Brame, 207 Par Drive, Henderson, NC 27536.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to West End Baptist Church, 619 Dabney Drive, Henderson, NC 27536.
