Malcolm Gilbert Hedgepeth

HENDERSON- Malcolm Gilbert Hedgepeth, 87, of Poplar Creek Road, died Friday, October 29, 2021 at his home. Born in Vance County on December 11, 1933 he was the son of the late Malcolm Kirk Hedgepeth and Isabel Ball Hedgepeth. He was retired from Ball Glass and was a member of Poplar Creek Baptist Church. Gilbert was a Veteran of the US Army. His family was his favorite hobby. A graveside memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 2:00PM by Darrell Mullinix and Rev. Tony Evans in the cemetery of Poplar Creek Baptist Church. Gilbert is survived by his wife, Barbara Weldon Hedgepeth of the home; his son, Malcolm Allen Hedgepeth and wife, Erica of Prescott, AZ; his daughter, Carolyn Hedgepeth Isley and husband, Mark of Snow Camp, NC; seven grandchildren, Malcolm Neal Hedgepeth and wife, Jennifer; Brittany Hedgepeth Adkinson and husband, Seth; Lindsey Nicole Kulp and fiancé Trevor Salladay, Madison Anne Kulp, Paige Christine Isley, Matthew Grant Woltz and wife, Mackenzie and Luke Harris Woltz; and three great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Nancy Hedgepeth Kulp and Sandra Hedgepeth Woltz; a brother, Charles Ball Hedgepeth; and two sisters, Gloria Hedgepeth Norwood and Annie Laurie Hedgepeth Ellis. The family will receive friends Wednesday following the service in the Family Life Center of Poplar Creek Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Poplar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1371 Poplar Creek Road, Henderson, NC 27537.
