Margaret Kearney Collins, 86, a resident of Henderson, died Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Brookdale Durham.Born on October 6, 1933 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Henry Kearney and Myrtle Dunn Kearney.Mrs. Collins was a member of South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church and a member of "Heaven Bound" Sunday School Class.
A private graveside service will be held Friday at 2 PM at Sunset Gardens by the Rev. Frank Sossamon.
She is survived by her husband, Earlie Glenn "E.G." Collins, Jr. of the home; two daughters, Judy C. Horton (Anthony) of Durham and Susan C. Brummitt (Mark) of Ridgeway, Virginia; three grandchildren, Brittany Brummitt, Cameron Brummitt, and Davis Horton; two sisters, Sue K. Beal of Kittrell and Rosa K. Abbott of Henderson.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Mary K. Satterwhite; and four brothers, J. T. Kearney, Robert Kearney, David Kearney, and Alvin Kearney.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, for the Food Pantry, PO Box 2510, Henderson, NC 27536 or to the South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church Media Fund, PO Box 2286 Henderson, NC 27536.
