Margaret Glover Stevenson

May 31, 1931 — May 30, 2025

HENDERSON- Margaret Glover Stevenson, 93, formerly of Buckhorn Street, died Friday May 30, 2025 at Brookdale Wake Forest. Born May 31, 1931 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Maude Wells Glover and James Buell Glover and was the widow of Lawrence Stevenson. Mrs. Stevenson retired from the City of Henderson where she worked as the City Clerk. She was an avid Tarheel Fan, enjoying all UNC sports with her favorite being basketball. She also enjoyed watching NASCAR, going to the nail salon, working on puzzles and listening to Elvis Presley. She and Lawrence were longtime members of the Henderson Moose Lodge where they shared many fond moments and many delicious steak dinners with friends. Most likely her greatest joy came with friends and family during their summers at Kerr Lake. She had a great sense of humor, a great laugh, and was adored by all that had the pleasure to know her. To honor her wishes, no service is planned at this time. Mrs. Stevenson is survived by a son, Michael Stevenson of Chapel Hill; three granddaughters, Amy Stevenson of Henderson, Ellen Williams and husband, Aaron of Wake Forest, and Shannon Stevenson of Dublin, OH; a daughter-in-law, Pam Stevenson of Dublin, OH; four great-grandchildren, Greyson Williams, Eden Williams, Opal Perrin and Abe Perrin; and a sister, Hilda Poythress. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, David Stevenson; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Stevenson; her brother, Seth Glover and two sisters, Adele Wheless and Betty Padgett.
