HENDERSON- Margaret "Peggy" Pendleton Hunt Williams, 94, formerly of Lakeview Drive, died Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at Hillside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wake Forest. Born March 31, 1926, in Henderson, NC, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Cleveland Hunt and Virginia Pendleton Hunt. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, James Leslie Williams.Mrs. Williams was a homemaker and an active member of First Baptist Church, Henderson. She enjoyed playing bridge and participated in numerous bridge clubs.She loved spending time with family and friends, traveling throughout the world, and ballroom dancing.She was a charter member of the Shoe and Slipper Dance Club.A private graveside funeral will be held Friday at Sunset Gardens, officiated by Dr. Ronald S. Cava. Mrs. Williams is survived by two daughters, Margaret W. Davis (John) of Wake Forest, and Catherine W. Whalen (Jim) of Machias, Maine; two sons, James L. Williams, Jr. (Emily) and Daniel K. Williams (Mary Susan), both of Henderson.She was preceded in death by 7 sisters and two brothers.She is survived by one sister, Janie Clark of Atlantic Beach; nine grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
