She was born in Greece on May 21, 1926 to Demetrious and Constantina Protopapadaki and was the widow of Michael Stamatakis who died in 1989.
Mrs. Stamatakis is survived by a son, Steve Michael Stamatakis of Winston Salem, NC, and his children, Caroline Elizabeth Stamatakis and Alice Michael Stamatakis; a daughter, Constantina Stamatakis of Wilmington; a sister, Evangalea Protopapadaki of Greece; a cousin, Kyriakos Protopapadaki and wife, Janet of England;, and their sons, Antonis Protopapadaki of Atlanta and Sven Protopapadaki of England; and a nephew, Michael Stamatakis and wife, Gorgia Stamatakis of Greece.
A Trisagion Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 608 South College Road, Wilmington, NC.
A funeral service will be held at the church at 3:00 pm on Thursday by Father Nicholaos Spirakis and Father Regis Alexoudis.A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday in Henderson, NC with Father Paul Christy officiating.
