Marie Esther Coggins Ayscue, 96, of Henderson, died Saturday, August 17, 2024 in a local nursing home. Born November 8, 1927 in Nash County, she was the daughter of the late Martha Walker and William J. Coggins. Marie was retired from Harriett and Henderson Yarns where she was a lab technician and was a member of New Life Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday August 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the J. M. White Funeral Home by Rev. Joel Beckham. Burial will follow at Suset Gardens. She is survived by her daughter, Joy Ayscue Rowland and husband Albert of Raleigh; two sons, Randy Ayscue, and wife, Faye of Durham and Marty Ayscue and wife, Ann of Henderson; four grandchildren, Tammy Smith and husband Matt, Ashley Cohn and husband Bryan, Jay Ayscue and wife Jessica, and Jody King and husband Austyn; seven great grandchildren, Kassandra Smith, Thomas Smith, Jackson Cohn, Lila Grace Cohn, Rhett Cohn, Aaliyah King and Izabella Ayscue. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Danny Ayscue; four sisters and six brothers. Serving as pallbearers will be Bryan Cohn, Matthew Smith, Marvin Ross, Noel Faulkner, Scott Parrish, and Austyn King. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Tony Allen. The family will receive friends Tuesday prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the J. M. White Funeral Home.
