WILMINGTON-Marie Robertson Hayes, 82, a resident of Springer Road, and a former resident of Walter Bowen Road in Henderson, died Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Davis Health Care Center.Born in Vance County on July 31, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Thomas Robertson and Ora Crocker Robertson, and was the widow of Walter Lee Chuck Hayes. Mrs. Hayes was a retired bookkeeper at Sprint.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 31, 2017 at 11 am in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Frank Sossamon.Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Marie Kibler of Wilmington; one son, Joey Hayes (Gina) of Henderson; one sister Fay R. Whitfield (Tom)of Wilmington; and six grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Hayes; her son-in-law, Dan Kibler; and one sister, Joan Aycock.
The family will receive friends Thursday night from 7 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.
Serving as active pall bears will be Sam Morse, Buster Whitfield, Kirby Aycock, Jay Lovings, Tom Whitfield, and Jason Pernell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Marie Robertson Hayes Funeral Fund, c/o J. M. White Funeral Home, 60 Zeb Robinson Road, Henderson, NC27536.
