OXFORD-Marie Proctor Rowland, a resident of 557 Robert Rowland Road, died Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Hock Family Pavilion.Born in Vance County on December 22, 1938, she was the daughter of the late William A. Proctor and Mildred Watkins Proctor, and was the widow of Robert Marshall Rowland.She was a retired cosmetologist and part-time instructor in the Cosmetology Department at Vance-Granville Community College.
To honor her wishes, no services will be held.Entombment will be in the Eternity Mausoleum in Oakhurst Cemetery in Clarksville, VA.
She is survived by her companion of 20 years, Philip Peloquin of Oxford; one sister, Carolyn Barbour (Sam) of Angier; and one brother, William (Bill) Proctor (Janice) of Toccoa, GA.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Robin Renee’ Rowland, and her sister, Betty Bennett.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Robin Renee’ Rowland Scholarship Fund for Cosmetology at Vance-Granville Community College, PO Box 917, Henderson, NC27536.
