Marjorie Van Dyke Turner, a resident of 539 Rowland Street, died Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham.Born in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Lee Van Dyke and Pauline Ellington Van Dyke, and was the widow of Robert J. Turner, Jr.She was actively involved in Turner Insurance Agency with her husband and continued to help his clients after his death. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Sunset Gardens by Dr. Ronald S. Cava.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, James A. Van Dyke.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday prior to the service from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM at J. M. White Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to UCSD Foundation, Dr. Afshari Research Fellow, Shiney Eye Center, 9415 Campus Point Dr., RM 259, La Jolla, CA 92093-0946.
