Mark Steven Abbott, age 49, of Henderson died Wednesday, March 6, 2013, surrounded by his family at Duke University Hospital.
He was born on February 7, 1964 in Vance County to Betty Nell Robinson Abbott of Henderson and the late Bennett Perry Billy Abbott. Mark loved to play the guitar and spend time with his many friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Gene Wood.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one sister, Patsy Rhodes and husband, Kenneth; and two brothers, David Abbott and wife, Kathy and Randy Abbott and wife, Susan all of Henderson.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lois Newman Robinson; his grandfather, Roger Robinson; and two uncles, Freeland Robinson and Lawrence Edwards of Henderson.
The family will receive friends Friday night from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home of Sylvia Edwards at 1397 Ruin Creek Road.
Serving as active pall bearers will be David Abbott, Randy Abbott, Philip Roberson, C. T. Roberson, Randy Rowland, Willie Perkinson, Jeffery Robinson, Ricky King, Randall Abbott, II, and Jordan Abbott.
Arrangements are by J. M. White Funeral Home.
