HENDERSON-Marshall Eugene Skint Wilson, age 66, of 459 Spring Valley Road, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2010.Born in Vance County on October 18, 1943, he was the son of the late William Lee Wilson and Maggie Paschall Wilson.He was a graduate of Middleburg High School, and was retired from Wonder Bread Company and also had worked at Parkway Mobile Homes.
Skint never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need of a place to sleep. He loved children, was a fantastic baseball coach, and a huge Yankee fan.He will surely be missed.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Rodney Inscoe.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his special friend, Annie Lee West of the home; one daughter, Michelle W. Woodlief (Brad) of Greenville, NC ; three sons, Marshall Wilson, Jr. (Veronica) of Bullock, , Mike Wilson (Lisa) of Mebane, and Scott Wilson of Henderson; three sisters, Susie W. Murphy (Eugene), and Hazel W. Hamm (Johnny) both of Henderson; and Dot Knight (Sherwood) of Raleigh, three brothers, Mac Wilson, (Judy) of Kittrell; Charles Wilson (Rue) of Henderson, and William L. Wilson, Jr. (Millie) of Lake Gaston; his grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Connor Woodlief, Mallory Woodlief, Billy Owens, Jordan Wilson, Taylor Wilson, Kendall Wilson, Krista Wilson, Kevin Wilson; and one great grandchild, Jasmine Wilson..He was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Chuck Wilson.
The family will receive friends on Saturday prior to the service from 9:30 until 11:00 am at J. M. White Funeral Home.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Tony Allen, Tom Allen, Basil Asbury, Russell Newman, Joey Thompson, Ronnie Grissom, Pete Smith, Billy Watkins, J. H. Hamm, Daryl Eatmon, Woody Knight, Artie Yarborough, and Tim Jackson.
Skint would like to thank his landlord, Mr. Butch Spain, for being so kind to him during his illness. Also, Artie Yarborough and Tim Jackson for all their help during his time of need.A very special thank you to Dr. Mark Dubinski and Diane Varnadore for their special care and concern, and also Linda Terry, his home health care nurse.
