HENDERSON-Martha Orr Hicks, 82, a resident of 110 Torri Drive, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at her home.Born on March 15, 1936 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Harry Clinton Casey Orr and Florence Iola Short Orr.
Martha was a certified CNA.
Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 am at Elmwood Cemetery by the Rev. Abidan Shah.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda Adcock (James) and Lisa Schronce (Jimmy) of Henderson and Sherry Dickerson of Raleigh; two sons, William Vincent Bowden (Deborah) of Henderson and Dean Dickerson of Middleburg; one sister, Vickie Orr Ross (David) of Henderson; two brothers, Harry Orr (Dianne) and Charles Casey Orr (Lorrie)of Henderson; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husbands, Vance William Bowden and James Hicks; one sister, Geraldine Young; and one brother, Perry Orr.
The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home of Lisa and Jimmy Schronce at 32 Canterbury Court in Stratford Hills.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Marthas memory to the Ruin Creek Animal Protection Society of Henderson, 165 US Hwy. 158 By-Pass, Henderson, NC27537
