Martha Hines Satterwhite

HENDERSON- Martha Hines Satterwhite, 93, formerly of Stagecoach Road, died Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Henderson Health and Rehab. Born October 2, 1932 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Sarah Grace Hines and Herbert Alexander Hines and was the widow of Malcolm Averette Satterwhite. She retired from Roses Stores where she was an office clerk. Mrs. Satterwhite was a member of Island Creek Baptist Church where she was the pianist for more than 35 years. Funeral services will be held at Island Creek Baptist Church Sunday, January 18, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. by Rev. Johnny Yount. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Satterwhite is survived by her daughter-in-law, Angela Satterwhite of Henderson; four grandchildren, Kyle Satterwhite and wife, Allie, Ryan Satterwhite and wife, Stephanie, Amber Keeter and husband, Caleb and Kimberly Martin and husband, Wesley; and five great-grandchildren, Claire Satterwhite, Skyler Satterwhite, Bennett Martin, Jackson Martin and Penelope Keeter.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry M. Satterwhite; three sisters, Miss Evelyn G. Hines, Dorothy H. Ward and Charlotte Hines; and three brothers, Sidney C. Hines, L. Logan Hines and Dennis Hines.

Serving as active pallbearers will be current deacons of the church. Honorary pallbearers will be inactive deacons of the church.

The family would like to thank Mrs. Satterwhite’s caregivers at the nursing home including, Connie, Louise, Angie, Mary, Michelle, Linda and LaToya.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. in the fellowship hall of the church.
