Mary Ragland Caudle

Born in Forsyth County on February 21, 1916, she was the daughter of the late James Cary Ragland and Minerva Huff Ragland.She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Woodrow Delbert Caudle.
Mrs. Caudle grew up in Kernersville, N.C and was educated at the Kernersville School where she graduated in 1933.She then attended the Underwood Business School in Winston-Salem, N.C.Moving to Raleigh with her husband in 1938, she worked at Pine State Creamery, was a stay at home Mom, and then worked for Iveys Department Store.She was a member of Hayes Barton Baptist Church for over 50 years and a member of the Modern Lydia Sunday School Class.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 11:00 am at Montlawn Memorial Park by Dr. David Hailey.
Mrs. Caudle is survived by her son David Woodrow Woody Caudle and his wife Kathy of Henderson, two grandsons, Trey Caudle and wife Brooke of Raleigh and David Caudle of Wilson and one great grandson, Elijah Caudle of Raleigh.She is also survived by one sister, Martha Jane R. Crawford of Winston-Salem and many nieces and nephews along with her many friends at The Heritage of Raleigh.She was also preceded in death by her father and mother, one sister, Ellen R. Cooke; and three brothers, Phin, Bayne, and Charles Ragland.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Montlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Caudle had asked for contributions to be made to her great grandsons college fund.Contributions can be made in her memory to The Elijah Allman Caudle College Fund c/o D.W. Caudle 319 Pine Trail Henderson, N.C. 27537.
