Mary Burroughs Crews

HENDERSON- Mary Burroughs Crews, 82, of Matthews Road, died Friday, July 15, 2022 at her home. Born October 24, 1939 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas Burroughs and Evelyn Cawthorne Burroughs and was the widow of Albert Harriss Crews. She was a member of Hermon United Methodist Church where formerly she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 20, 2022 from noon until 1:00 PM at J.M. White Funeral Home and at other times at the home, 159 Matthews Road, Henderson, NC 27537. A private graveside service will be held on the Burroughs Family Farm. Mrs. Crews is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Crews Cable and husband, Jamie of Henderson; her son, John Albert Crews of Henderson; and her sister, Catherine “Joni” Wilson, and husband, Edward, of Henderson. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Overton. Serving as pallbearers Lee Overton, Matt Overton, Jason Abbott, Christopher Wilson, Michael Wilson and Norfleet Crews.
