Mary Eliza "Dolly" Hinton

HENDERSON- Mary Eliza “Dolly” Best Hinton, 89, of US Hwy 158 Bypass, died peacefully Tuesday, March 07, 2023 at her home. Born February 8, 1934 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Richard Best and Hester Ann Watkins and the widow of Robert E. Hinton. She was retired from Carolina Power and Light Company where she worked for over 40 years. She was also a lifelong member of Brookston Presbyterian Church. According to her wishes, no services are planned at this time. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard Best Hinton; a sister and three brothers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brookston Presbyterian Church (C/O Peggy Pegram, 246 Greystone Road, Henderson, NC 27537), Middleburg Cemetery Fund (C/O Town of Middleburg, PO Box 159, Middleburg, NC 27556, write "Middleburg Cemetery" in the memo line), or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959).
