CLARKSVILLE-Mary Eunice Reese Green, 83, a resident of 961 Epps Fork Road, died Sunday, January 8, 2017, at Rex Hospital.Born in Mecklenburg County, Virginia on September 30, 1933, she was the daughter of the late John Emmett Reese, Sr. and Eunice Schulthrop Reese. Mary was a member of Rock Spring Baptist Church in Townsville for many years.She loved her Lord and Savior and faithfully served in many capacities while she was able.She also loved her family and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren who knew her as MeMe.She was a wonderful cook, seamstress,homemaker and supporter of her husband on their family farm during their 64 years of marriageShe loved to read and took great pleasure in sending many greeting cards whatever the occasion.We will miss her sweet smile and quiet personality, but rejoice that she has reached her eternal home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 PM at Rock Spring Baptist Church by the Rev. Gary Brummitt.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Henry Linward Green of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Karen Green Futrell and William Clifton Futrell, Jr. of Nashville, NC; grandchildren, Mary Megan Unrue and husband, Aaron Benjamin Unrue of Rocky Mount, William Clifton Futrell, III and wife, Jessica Hobson Futrell of Smithfield, VA; two great grandchildren, Henry Dallas Unrue, and Emerson Reese Futrell; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Lizzie Hendrick, Louise Mustian, Edna Johnson, and Gladys Cliborne; and her brothers, Lonzer Puryear, Clifton Reese, John Reese, Jr. and Douglas Reese.
The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6 until 8 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home.
Serving as active pall bearers will be William Futrell,Aaron Unrue, Dwight Green, Bryant Green, Pearson Jones, Jr., Darren Small, Chuck Tillotson, and Clifton Capps.
