Mary Helen Pickett Garner

HENDERSON- Mary Helen Pickett Garner, 75, of Boddie Street, died Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at her home. Born January 29, 1947 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Emma Knight Pickett and Lawrence Pickett. Mary Helen was a retired CNA and a former member of Grace Baptist Church. A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Gardens Cemetery by Rev. Ronnie Lee Matthews. She is survived by her husband, Alton Lee Garner of the home; a daughter, Beth Ashley and husband, Mike of Henderson; three grandchildren, John-Curtis Matthews, Dustin Matthews, and Whitney Reed and husband, Joshua; and two great-grandchildren, Haisley Reed and Beau Reed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Lee Overby, Jr. The family will receive friends following the service at Sunset Gardens and at other times at the home.
