HENDERSON-Mary Ross "Sweetpea" Jackson, 80, a resident of 2599 N. Lynnbank Road, died Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Duke University Hospital.Born in Vance County on September 20, 1937, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas Smith and Emma Paschall Smith.She was retired as a Quality Control Inspector from the former Laurens Glass Plant.She was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist church where she was a member of the Ladies Group and a member of the choir, where she sang solos for the church.
Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at 11:00 am at Sunset Gardens by the Rev. Johnny Yount.
She is survived by her husband, Robert James Jackson of the home; two sons, Danny K. Ross of Klamath Falls, Oregon and David W. Ross of Jacksonville, Florida; one aunt, Fanny Carpenter of Henderson, five grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
The family will receive friends at the home at 2599 N. Lynnbank Road on Monday from 12 Noon until 6 pm, and immediately following the service at Sunset Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Ladies Group, c/o Maria Ellis, 281 Garrett Road, Henderson, NC27537.
