HENDERSON- Mrs. Mary Hunt Lawson, age 86, a resident of 195 Spring Valley Lake Rd, died Sunday, March 6, 2016 at her home.Born in Franklin County on October 6, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Alson Gray Hunt and Louise Ayscue Hunt.She was the widow of Furnie Lewis Lawson, Sr.
Mrs. Lawson was retired from Southern Quilters where she worked as a seamstress.She was a member of Spring Valley United Methodist Church where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3:00 PM by Rev. Johnny Yount.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by two daughters, Scarlet L. Jones (Marshall) of Norlina and Bonnie L. Baskett (Jerry) of Henderson; two sons, Furnie Lewis Lawson, Jr. of Henderson and Steven R. Lawson of the home; six grandchildren, Jennifer Long, Rebecca Bass, Robert Jones, Christy Lawson, Bryan Baskett and Morgan Baskett; eight great grandchildren; one brother, James Sterling Hunt; and her loving caretaker, Patricia B. Adcock
She was preceded in death by a sister, Annie Mae Hunt Smith; and two brothers, Charlie Gray Hunt and Ruffin Hunt.
The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service on Wednesday from 2:00 PM till 3:00 PM. At other times they will be at the home, 195 Spring Valley Lake Road.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bryan Baskett, Zach Long, Robert Jones, David Long, Will Jones, Olen Bass and Jay Bass.
