Henderson, NC- Mary J. Passas, 88, a resident of Oakdale Circle, quietly passed away at home on May 7, 2015 surrounded by loved ones.Born on April 18, 1927 in Topeka Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Jason S. Morton and Joy E. Grayson and lived much of her youth on a farm in Oskaloosa.She later moved to the Washington, D.C. area.
After retiring from the insurance industry in Alexandria, VA, Mary and husband Michael lived in FL and Lake Gaston Estates, NC before finally settling in Henderson, NC.
Her family will receive friends at the home on Saturday May 30, 2015 from 1:00 PM till 4:00PM.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Michael C. Passas. Also, daughters Barbara Russell of Arlington, VA; Donna Flowers of Henderson, NC; Susan McHugh (Patrick) of Merritt Island,FL; Bernadette Pessagno (Mickey) of Viera, FL; and Georgia Hall (Kevin) of Angier, NC. Her grandchildren: Erin Barnette (Matthew); Brent McHugh; Christy Pessagno; Dru Flowers; Spencer Flowers (Leigh Ann); Kristen Kraemer (Larrisa). Also, three great-grandchildren: Zachary and Patrick Barnette, and Hadley Flowers and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Michael Passas.
