HENDERSON-Mary Magdalene Kearney Satterwhite, 86, a resident of 588 Dr. Finch Road, died Monday, January 27, 2014 at her home.Born in Vance County on July 21, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Henry Kearney and Myrtle Lane Dunn, and was the widower of Willard D. Satterwhite.Mrs. Satterwhite was an exceptional mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
She was retired from Roses Stores, Inc. and was a member of the Senior Citizens Group at New Sandy Creek Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Tim Burgess and the Rev. Milton Abbott.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by four daughters, Patricia Satterwhite, Rachel Satterwhite, Beverly Satterwhite all of Henderson and Jeanette Stone of Kittrell; three sons, Jerry Satterwhite of Henderson and Michael Satterwhite and Randy Satterwhite both of Kittrell; three sisters, Rosa Abbott and Margaret Collins both of Henderson and Susie Beal of Kittrell; one brother, Alvin Kearney of Kittrell; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Satterwhite; one daughter, Elizabeth S. Matthews who died on January 27, 2014; and three brothers, J. T. Kearney, David Kearney, and Robert Kearney.
The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Jonathan Smiley, Brian Matthews, Ray Matthews, Reggie Parks, Michael Satterwhite, David Stanley, Reginald Stone, and Henry Parks.
Flowers will be accepted.
