Mattie Smith Hendricks, age 82, a resident of 455 Lewis Williams Road, died Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Maria Parham Medical Center.Born on June 11, 1932 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late William Jethro Smith and Lucille Andrews Smith, and was the widow of Lawrence William Hendricks.
She was a homemaker and member of Flat Rock United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 pm at Flat Rock United Methodist Church by the Rev. Cathy Hoyle.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by two sons, Lawrence Wayne Hendricks and wife, Jo Ann of Henderson and Terry Dale Hendricks and wife Naomi of Ray City, GA; one sister, Brenda S, Turner of Maryland; five grandchildren, Matthew Hendricks and wife Tayler, Joseph Hendricks, Stephen Robinson and wife Nicki, Machelle Thomas and husband Jason, and Eric S. Hendricks; four great grandchildren Otelia Thomas, Olivia Thomas, William Robinson, and Kendall Robinson. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Pattie Dora Smith and ten other brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 7 until 830pm at the J. M. White Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of Wayne and Jo Ann Hendricks, 425 Lewis Williams Road.
