HENDERSON- Mrs. Mattie Rebecca Owen West, age 78, a resident of 570 St. Andrews Church Road, died Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at her home.Born in Vance County on December 1, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Henry Owen and Betsy Ivey Owen. Mrs. West attended St. Andrews Church and was retired from Pacific Coast Feathers where she worked as the cafeteria supervisor.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home by Rev. Frank Sossamon.Burial will follow in the St. Andrews Church Cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, Alton Dale West and wife Faith and Carl Leonard Len West and wife Joyce all of Henderson; two sisters, Ruth Owen Breedlove of Oxford and Joyce Owen Ayscue of Henderson; a brother, Carl Owen of Summerville, GA; nine grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Tucker A.T. West and a son, Keith Tucker West, Sr.
The family will receive friends prior to the service at J.M. White Funeral Home from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM on Friday.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Apple, Roger Owen, Mike Owen, Keith Tucker West, Jr., Clay Owen and Stanley Neal.
