Maurice Lee Coghill, Jr.

Maurice Lee Coghill, Jr., 85, a resident of Meadow Drive, died Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Universal Health Care in Oxford. Born in Vance County on April 14, 1938, he was the son of the late Maurice Lee Coghill, Sr. and Gladys Woodlief Coghill. He was a retired truck driver for Harriett & Henderson Yarns, Inc., and was a member of Fuller Chapel Christian Church. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 14, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Fuller Chapel Christian Church by the Rev. Tammy Ayscue. The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall at Fuller Chapel Christian Church and Monday July 10, 2023 at the home from 2:00 until 7:00 PM. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Finch “Lib” Coghill of the home; one daughter, Kim C. Clark (Scott) of Henderson; one sister, Jean C. Barbour of Lexington, SC; one brother, Phil Coghill of Lafayette, Louisiana; and his faithful companion “Izzy”. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fuller Chapel Christian Church, 1470 N. Lynnbank Rd., Henderson, NC 27537 or to the Ruin Creek Animal Protection Society, 165 US Hwy. 158 Bypass Henderson, NC 27537. The family requests that everyone dress casual for the service.
