HENDERSON-Maurice Lee Zimberg, 91, a resident of Henderson, died Tuesday, October 6, 2020 in a local nursing home.Born on June 25, 1929 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Solomon Zimberg and Myrtle Bowie Zimberg.Mr. Zimberg was a retired salesman, and was a member of Island Creek Baptist Church.
Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 pm at Sunset Gardens by the Rev. Johnny Yount.
He is survived by his wife, Paula King Zimberg of the home; a son, Leonard Michael Zimberg of TN; a daughter, Susan Elizabeth Lowery of Richmond, VA; a step-son, Milton Hoyle of Remington, VA; three grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Paul Hoyle.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Food Ministry Fund c/o Island Creek Baptist Church, 950 Stagecoach Road, Henderson, NC 27537.
The family will receive friends following the service on Saturday at the cemetery.
