DALLAS, GA- Mr. Melvin "Mel" Gray Williamson, 84 of Temple, GA passed away, Thursday, September 23, 2021. He was born October 24, 1936 in Henderson the son of the late Robert Lee Williamson and the late Mrs. Della McGhee Williamson. He was a retired Master Electrician and was a Veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Williamson loved to hunt, fish, and garden, his family was very important to him and he was the best Papa to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert "Jerry" Williamson, Lucious "Sam" Williamson and Richard Williamson and one sister, Marylee Ammons. Survivors include his children and their spouses, Patsy and Paul Nesteby of Minnesota, Doug and Jan Williamson of Temple, GA, Brenda and Dale Harris of Temple, Donna and Darren Brown of Temple, GA, and Amanda and Jarrod Frew of Temple, GA, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth "Jo" Arrington, Nan and Bob Schaller, Della and Don Sattotti, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis and Linda Williamson and Walter Williamson, 12 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren also survive. The family will receive friends, Sunday, September 26, 2021 at J. Collins Funeral Home in Villa Rica, GA from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM. A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, September 26, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of J. Collins Funeral Home. After the local funeral service Mr. Williamson will be carried to J. M. White Funeral Home in Henderson, where a funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Stovall Baptist Church. Interment with military honors will follow in the Island Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends prior to the service at Stovall Baptist Church from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
