NORLINA-Michael Wayne Abbott, 55, a resident of 847 Division Street Ext. died Sunday, April 24, 2016, at his home after a brief illness.Born in Vance County on July 6, 1960, he was the son of the late Robert Edward Abbott and Patricia Rose Weaver Abbott.Michael was employed as a Supervisor at International Paper.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at 6 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jeff Prewer.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa George Abbott of the home; two sons, Robert Tate Abbott (Heather) and Jesse George Abbott of Norlina; two sisters, Vickie A. Duffer (Wayne) of South Boston, VA and Priscilla Abbott of Henderson; and two brothers, Ricky Abbott of Wendell and Dennis Abbott (Lori) of Henderson.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ruby Burroughs.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service on Tuesday at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.
