Michael Gene "Mike" Gene Stainback

HENDERSON-Michael Gene "Mike" Stainback, 57, a resident of Henderson, died Thursday, February 21, 2019, at Maria Parham Health.Born on October 24, 1961 in Vance County, he was the son of the late William Alton Stainback and Meredith Roberson Stainback.Mike retired as a Lieutenant from the Vance County Sheriff’s Department where he worked for 34 years, and was a member of Bible Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Frank Sossamon.A private burial will be held at Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey Singley Stainback; two daughters, Megan Ann Stainback and Kylie Paige Stainback of the home; one brother, Alton Dennis Stainback and wife, LaRose of Henderson; two nephews, Alton Dennis Stainback, II and Joshua Atley Stainback.
The family will receive friends on Saturday prior to the service and from 1 until 2 pm and immediately following the service at J. M. White Funeral Home.
Serving as honorary pall bearers will the Vance County Sheriff’s Department.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Duke Children’s Hospital, 2301 Erwin Road, Durham, NC27705.
