Michael Anthony Ignelzi

Michael Anthony Ignelzi, Sr., age 82, a resident of Durham, died Wednesday July 13, 2011.Michael was the son of the late Lucy Navarro and Americus Ignelzi and was preceded in death by his wife, Rebekah Wilson Ignelzi. A native of Pittsburgh and a graduate of Carnegie Tech he practiced architecture in Pittsburgh for many years until moving to Durham.He retired as a project manager with the Duke University Medical Center in 1997.Michael was also a veteran of the United States Army.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 6th, 2011 at 11:00 AM at The University Club in Pittsburgh.
Mr. Ignelzi is survived by one sister, Alberta Boyd of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; two sons, William M. Ignelzi and wife Judy, of Durham,NC, Michael A. Ignelzi, Jr. and wife Gay Maness of Jamestown, NC; and a daughter, Gina I. Harris and husband Paul of Henderson, NC; seven grandchildren, Sarah Ignelzi Dearr and husband Greyson, Elizabeth Ignelzi, Megan Ignelzi, Atticus Ignelzi, Virgina Ignelzi, Will Harris and Abby Harris.
The family will received friends at the home of William and Judy Ignelzi, 535 Marshall Way, Durham, NC on Saturday July 16th, 2011.
