Mildred Faye Renn Young

HENDERSON- Mildred Faye Renn Young, 81, formerly of Abbott Road, died Saturday, August 10, 2024 at a local nursing home. Born September 10, 1942, in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Magnolia Rebecca Abbott Jennings and Ikey Hill Renn and was the widow of James Carl Young. She retired from the Vance County School System where she was a teacher’s assistant at Zeb Vance Elementary School. Faye was a member of Plank Chapel United Methodist Church where she was a former choir member. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at Plank Chapel United Methodist Church by Rev. Carol Dean. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Faye is survived by her daughter, Pam Young Hoyle and husband, Donald Yates “D.Y.”; her grandchildren, Dylan Yates Hoyle and wife, Alexandra and Kaylan Hoyle Holt and husband, Zach; three great-grandchildren, Aliza Hoyle, Gatlin Holt and Parker Holt; and two brothers, Wayne Renn and wife, Shirley and Danny Renn, both of Henderson. The family will receive friends following the service on Wednesday in the fellowship hall of Plank Chapel; and at other times at the home of Pam and D.Y. Hoyle.
