Mildred Jordan Wood

RALEIGH- Mildred Hoyle Jordan Wood, 95, of Dixie Trail, died Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Morningside of Raleigh. Born November 25, 1927 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Eulalia Wilder Hoyle and Hubert O. Hoyle and was the widow of Cohen Jordan and Tom Wood. She was a retired teacher, having taught at the School for the Blind and in the Wake County School System. Mildred was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church of Raleigh where she formerly served as a deacon and Sunday School Teacher. A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at New Sandy Creek Baptist Church by Rev. Tim Burgess and Rev. Dane Hadley. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Friedrich (Ron) of Apex; her son, Glenn Jordan (Susan) of Raleigh; two grandchildren, Aaron Jordan and Gaelen Jordan; her sister, Betty H. Blue and husband, Edward of Henderson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca Hoyle and a brother, Willis Hoyle.
