Mildred Pruitt Wortham

HENDERSON-Mildred Pruitt Wortham, age 77, a resident of 451 Satterwhite Point Road, died Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Maria Parham Medical Center.Born on October 8, 1934 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late James Otha Pruitt and Evie Faulkner Pruitt.She was a former employee of Faulkner Building Supply and Merita Bread Co., and attended South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 1,2012, at 3:00 pm at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Frank Sossamon.Burial will follow in the Flat Rock United Methodist Church Cemetery.
She is survived by one son, Douglas Kemp Wortham, Jr. of Henderson; two daughters, Jean W. Lucas of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin and Phyllis Ann Wortham of Williamsburg, Va; a special friend, Francis Choplin of Henderson; two grandchildren, Kelly Leigh Hale and William Ashton Lucas.She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Kemp Wortham, Sr.; two sisters, Mary P. Spain and Louise Pruitt; and two brothers, her twin, Milton Ray Pruitt and the Rev. James H. Pruitt.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Scott Fields, Clay Hoyle, Bill Lucas, Joel Creech, and Stuart Thompson.
Arrangements are by J. M. White Funeral Home.
