HENDERSON-Milton Edward Stainback, age 88, a resident of 1726 Faulkner Town Road, died Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at Duke University Hospital.Born in Vance County on May 12, 1923, he was the son of the late Murtie Lee Stainback and Mae Ayscue Stainback.Mr. Stainback was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II.He was a retired tobacco farmer and carpenter, and was a member of New Sandy Creek Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon and served on several other committees.
A memorial service with Military Rites will be held Saturday at 1:00 PM at New Sandy Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Tim Burgess.
He is survived by two sons, Gary Stainback and Wayne Stainback both of Henderson; one brother, George Stainback of Henderson; five sisters, Annie Mae Fuller and Elaine Reavis both of Henderson; Mary Pearce of Durham, Polly Ann Averette of Raleigh, and Shirley Inscoe of Boone ;nine grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his wife,
Nellie Faulkner Stainback.
The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service in the Fellowship Hall at New Sandy Creek Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to the New Sandy Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 1699 Weldons Mill Road, Henderson, NC27537.
