HENDERSON-Mozelle Watkins Perkinson, age 98, a resident of Henderson, died Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at Maria Parham Medical Center. Born on September 6, 1913 in Wake County, she was the daughter of the late Leonidas and Elsie Bell Stell Watkins.Mrs. Perkinson was a homemaker, a member of Kittrell Baptist Church, and attended West End Baptist Church.She was a member of the Zeb Vance Home Extension Club and was honored as Club Woman Of The Year in both 1985 and 1991.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 PM in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Revs. Donnie Perkinson, Ralph McGowan, and Barbara Murphy.Burial will follow in the Union Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Kittrell.
She is survived by two daughters, Deloris P. Lambert of Henderson and Elaine Perkinson of Raleigh; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and her caregiver, Catherine Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Edwin Perkinson; two sons, Jerry W. Perkinson and Charles W. Perkinson; and thirteen brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30 until 2:30 PM prior to the service at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home of Deloris Lambert at 946 Buckhorn Street.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Taylor Lambert, Zach Lambert, Randy Perkinson, Ronnie Perkinson, Royce Perkinson, and W. T. Nipper, Jr.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Mozelle and Edwin Perkinson Academic Scholarship Fund at Vance-Granville Community College, P. O. Box 917, Henderson, NC 27536.
